In 2002 I decided to “go it alone” as a website developer and set up my company, www.internet-consult.com.
Previously I gained some great experience at a web design agency and two years working at Jane’s Information Group (famous for Jane’s Fighting Ships and All the World’s Aircraft and other defence publications) developing their internet presence. Before that I had a good general background in computers having graduated from Durham University with a Computer Science degree, finding the website side of computers very interesting (and at the time really just starting to take off). In 2002 I felt it was a good time to set up on my own, especially since it fitted very well with the rowing training which was quite serious at the time.
I find that, especially being self-employed, I take a lot of pride in my work and offer great attention to detail and enjoy working with a wide variety of companies and individuals, whether they are starting their business from scratch or helping to grow their online presence.
